International Team (Presidents Cup)

The International Team is the side representing golfers from countries outside Europe and the United States, drawn from nations such as Australia, South Africa, Japan and South Korea, in the Presidents Cup, a biennial team competition against the United States first played in 1994 and modeled directly on the Ryder Cup format. Unlike the Ryder Cup's two-side rivalry, the Presidents Cup was created specifically to give leading golfers from a wide range of non-European countries a comparable team event.
