The finer grained groupings nested one level below a category, splitting a large category such as Sports or Competitions into smaller sets by discipline, region or level of play. A subcategory entry explains the narrower principle it groups its entities by, such as a specific discipline within a sport or a regional competition tier, and this page is the index of those groupings rather than a sporting subject in its own right.
