The Deutscher Olympischer Sportbund (DOSB), the German Olympic Sports Confederation, is the National Olympic Committee and umbrella sports body for Germany, formed in 2006 through the merger of the National Olympic Committee for Germany and the German Sports Confederation, and headquartered in Frankfurt am Main. It represents dozens of national sports federations, oversees elite athlete development and grassroots sport promotion across the country, and selects and fields the German Olympic team, continuing the Olympic representation of a reunified Germany after the separate East and West German teams were merged following reunification in 1990.
