The All Japan Judo Federation (Zen Nihon Judo Renmei) is the governing body for judo in Japan, founded in 1949 and headquartered in Tokyo at the Kodokan, the institute founded by judo's creator Jigoro Kano in 1882 that remains the sport's spiritual and administrative home. It oversees national competition and grading standards for the sport Japan originated and selects the Japanese national judo team, which has traditionally ranked among the most successful in Olympic and World Judo Championship competition.
