FAQs

How did the National Olympic Committee of Thailand come into being?

It grew out of a 1946 sports society for expatriates and was formally founded on 20 June 1948.

Its forerunner was the International Relations Committee for Sports, set up in 1946 as a society for expatriates living in Thailand to take part in sport. The committee then decided to create an official Olympic organization, and the National Olympic Committee of Thailand was formally founded on 20 June 1948. The International Olympic Committee recognized it at its meeting in Copenhagen on 15 May 1950.
