New Zealand first competed grouped with Australia as Australasia, and first competed independently in Antwerp in 1920.
No. The Oceania National Olympic Committees page records that New Zealand first took part in the Olympic Games grouped with Australia as Australasia. Its first appearance as an independent entity was at the VII Olympiad in Antwerp, Belgium, in 1920.
