Wheelbarrow race

A wheelbarrow race is a competitive team game played in pairs, in which one player takes the role of the driver and the other takes the role of the wheelbarrow. The player acting as the wheelbarrow walks forward on their hands while the driver holds onto their ankles and steers them from behind, and the pair races other such teams across a set distance in this two-person formation. It is a common activity at field days, company outings, and other informal group events, where teams compete in a short physical relay rather than in a structured sport with standardized equipment or a governing body. In some adult social settings the game is associated with drinking, with alcoholic beverages sometimes involved as part of the occasion, though the underlying format stays the same two-person race regardless of the setting it is played in.
