Warhammer Quest is a fantasy dungeon crawling adventure wargame released by Games Workshop in 1995 and designed by Andy Jones as a successor to the company's earlier dungeon crawling game series. One to six players take on the roles of warband members, drawn from archetypes such as the Barbarian, Wizard, Dwarf and Elf, who descend into dangerous underground ruins and dungeons within the Warhammer Fantasy setting in search of treasure and renown, fighting monsters and overcoming traps along the way. The original game line ran until 1998, after which Games Workshop revived the Warhammer Quest brand beginning in 2016 with a new series of standalone dungeon crawl board games. The game combines cooperative exploration with role playing style character progression, distinguishing it from purely competitive wargames of the same era.
