Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Tabletop role-playing game

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, often abbreviated WFRP or WHFRP, is a tabletop role-playing game set in Games Workshop's Warhammer Fantasy setting. The first edition, designed by Richard Halliwell, Rick Priestley, Graeme Davis, Jim Bambra and Phil Gallagher, appeared in 1986 from Games Workshop and was later reprinted by Hogshead Publishing. Green Ronin Publishing's Chris Pramas led a second edition released through Black Industries and Fantasy Flight Games in 2005, and Fantasy Flight Games followed with a mechanically distinct third edition in 2009. Cubicle 7 published a fourth edition in 2018 that drew inspiration from the earlier rule sets. Across its editions the game has used its own percentile-based system rather than a licensed ruleset, letting players take the roles of soldiers, scholars, criminals and other ordinary people surviving in the grim Warhammer world.
