War Between the States 1861-1865

War Between the States 1861-1865 is a grand strategy board wargame published by Simulations Publications Inc. in 1977 that simulates the American Civil War across both the Eastern and Western theaters. Two players take the Union and Confederate sides and can choose a single year scenario covering 1862 through 1864 or a full campaign game spanning the entire war. The game uses a 66 by 34 inch map and about 1,400 counters representing military units, with rules covering leadership, production, naval operations and supply. Critic Nicky Palmer wrote that it offers a depth and excitement unrivalled by its tactical counterparts, combining small local skirmishes with full scale battles.
