Unhinged (Magic: The Gathering)

Unhinged is a humor-themed expansion set for the collectible card game Magic: The Gathering, released on November 19, 2004, as a follow-up to the earlier joke set Unglued. Its 141 cards parody the game's own conventions, printing silver-bordered cards that reference the artist's name, use fractional power and toughness, or trigger physical minigames such as rock-paper-scissors and arm wrestling at the table. Lead designer Mark Rosewater said sets built on wordplay of this kind stay English-only by design. Unhinged was followed years later by a third humor set, Unstable, continuing the same silver-border tradition outside normal tournament play.
