Ultimate Combat!

Ultimate Combat! is an out-of-print collectible card game built around the theme of Asian martial arts combat. It was designed by judo sensei Dave Long and released in 1995 by the publisher Ultimate Games. The game's structure closely follows Magic: The Gathering, sharing roughly three quarters of its core rules while replacing the fantasy theme with a martial arts setting built from disciplines such as judo, taekwondo and wrestling. Reflecting this real-world grounding, the game earned endorsements from the United States Judo Association team, the USA Taekwondo team and the USA Wrestling team, an unusual level of sporting-body backing for a card game of its era. It has since fallen out of print and is now a collector's item among fans of 1990s collectible card games.
