Triominoes is a tile-based game and a variant of dominoes played with triangular tiles first published in 1965, in which each equilateral triangle tile carries three numbers, one at each corner, rather than the two numbers found on a standard domino. Players take turns placing tiles from their hand onto the layout so that the numbers on touching corners match, extending the growing pattern of triangles across the table, and score points based on the numbers showing on the tile they play, with special bonuses for certain shapes such as completed hexagons. A standard set uses corner values from zero to five and contains fifty six uniquely numbered tiles once mirror-image duplicates are excluded by convention. The number of tiles dealt to each player varies with the group size, with two-player games starting at nine tiles each, three or four player games at seven tiles each, and five or six player games at six tiles each; a popular commercial edition is sold as Tri-Ominos by the Pressman Toy Corporation.
