Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is a third-person shooter video game developed by High Moon Studios and published by Activision, released in August 2012 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with later ports to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2016. The game depicts the final days of a long civil war on the Transformers' home planet of Cybertron, as the Autobots struggle to escape their dying world while the Decepticons attempt to stop them from leaving. It directly continues the story begun in the 2010 game Transformers: War for Cybertron and in turn serves as a narrative prequel to the Transformers: Prime animated television series, while also including an origin story for the Dinobots reimagined from the original Generation 1 continuity. Several voice actors from the 1984 animated series reprised their characters for this game, giving long time fans of the franchise a direct link between the classic cartoon and this modern retelling of Cybertron's fall.
