Touring (card game)

Race Games

Touring is a specialty card game originally designed by William Janson Roche and patented by the Wallie Dorr Company, which produced it in 1906. Parker Brothers acquired it in 1925 and issued several revised editions over the decades. In the game players travel by car, and the cards carry mileage amounts. The first Wallie Dorr edition was a small red box of one hundred cards, and later Parker Brothers editions raised the mileage denominations as automobile travel became longer and more comfortable. It is widely believed that the popular French card game Mille Bornes was derived from Touring. After Parker Brothers took the American license of Mille Bornes, Touring was discontinued, though Winning Moves reissued it in 2014. The infobox lists play for 2, 3, 4 and 6 players and describes it as a take-that card game.
