Three musketeers is an asymmetric abstract strategy board game credited to designer Haar Hoolim and collected in Sid Sackson's 2011 anthology A Gamut of Games, though the game itself predates that book by decades as a folk-style abstract game. The two sides play by different rules: one player controls three musketeer pieces that start in opposite corners of the board and in its center, while the other player controls twenty-two enemy pieces that fill the remaining spaces. Players alternate orthogonal moves; the musketeer side captures any enemy piece it moves adjacent to, while the enemy side simply advances into empty spaces without capturing, and the two sides win by different conditions, the musketeers by leaving their opponent no legal move and the enemy side by forcing all three musketeer pieces into a single shared row or column.
