The Oregon Trail (Pressman Toys series)

Race Games

The Oregon Trail from Pressman Toy Corporation is a small family of tabletop games that adapt the well-known educational video game of the same name. The series began with a cooperative card game released on August 1, 2016, and sold through Target and Amazon, with components styled after 8-bit video games. In it, a party of two to six players follows the trail from Independence, Missouri, to the Willamette Valley in Oregon by laying trail cards end to end, and players must place 50 cards to win. Trail cards bring dice rolls such as river crossings and calamity cards such as snakebites or dysentery, which supply cards can remedy, and a successful game takes about thirty minutes. The series also includes a Hunt For Food card game, where players try to collect 600 pounds of meat, and a board game, Journey to Willamette Valley, for two to four players starting in 1844, in which each family has four members and wagons can be upgraded.
