The Fast Carriers

Modern Conquest and War Games

The Fast Carriers, subtitled Air-Sea Operations 1941 to 1977, is a two player board wargame published by Simulations Publications Inc in 1975. The game simulates naval combat centered on aircraft carrier task forces across more than three decades, from the early years of World War Two through the mid 1970s. Players command opposing carrier fleets, managing aircraft squadrons, search patterns and strike missions on a hexagonal map, with counters representing ships and air groups. The design lets two players refight historical Pacific carrier battles or construct hypothetical later era carrier clashes using the same core rules, making it one of the broader scope naval wargames SPI produced in the mid 1970s.
