The Crew (card game)

Trick-Taking Card Games

The Crew: The Quest for Planet Nine is a cooperative trick-taking card game for two to five players designed by Thomas Sing and released in 2019. Instead of competing, all players win or lose together across a logbook of 50 missions that grow steadily harder. Each mission hands out task cards naming particular cards that specific players must win in tricks, and the player holding the highest trump acts as commander. Communication is tightly limited: players may not discuss their hands and can only reveal a single card with a communicator token placed to show whether it is their highest, only or lowest card of that suit. Some missions change those rules or require tasks in a set order. The game was widely praised and won the 2020 Kennerspiel des Jahres, and it has been followed by Mission Deep Sea in 2021, a family edition in 2024 and a third installment in 2026.
