The Battles of Waterloo (game)

Modern Conquest and War Games

The Battles of Waterloo subtitled June 16-18 1815 is a two player Napoleonic wargame designed by Richard Berg and published by GMT Games in 1994. It simulates four engagements from Napoleon's final campaign, Quatre Bras, Ligny, Wavre and Mont Saint Jean, with one player commanding French forces and the other the Seventh Coalition armies. Its Leader Initiative Marker system requires players to select which commanders can act each turn while only a random few are activated forcing careful advance planning. The game includes three double sided hex grid maps at 210 yards per hex and 480 double sided counters, and won two Charles S Roberts Awards for Best Wargaming Graphics and Best Pre World War II Board Game at the 1994 Origins Awards.
