Test Match (board game)

Test Match is the name of two distinct cricket-themed board games. The first version was published in 1955 by John Waddington Limited in the United Kingdom and by John Sands Pty. Ltd. in Australia, and relied entirely on chance, similar to pencil cricket, with players pulling cardboard tabs to generate random deliveries. A separate three-dimensional version, originally made by Peter Pan and later produced by Crown and Andrews from 1977, involves one player rolling a ball bearing down a plastic chute attached to a plastic bowler figure while another player operates a batter figure to try to score runs. Both games are distinct from the cricket variation of the table-top football game Subbuteo. The journalist Russell Jackson described the Crown and Andrews version as the greatest cricket board game of all time, and it became Crown and Andrews' most popular game.
