Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza

Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza, often abbreviated TCGCP, is a fast paced shedding style card game created by Dolphin Hat Games founder Dave Campbell and first published in 2017. It draws its central mechanic from the older card game Egyptian Ratscrew, in which players must react quickly to matching conditions to claim a pile of cards. Each player starts with a hand dealt from a dedicated 64 card deck built around eight recurring card types: Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza, Gorilla, Groundhog and Narwhal. Players take turns placing a card face up in a shared pile while saying the next word in the fixed chant taco, cat, goat, cheese, pizza in order; whenever the word spoken aloud matches the card just played, or a special card's own rule triggers, every player races to slap the pile, and the slowest player loses cards or gains the pile depending on the version of the rule in use. The first player to shed every card from their hand wins the round. Designed for two to eight players in about ten minutes, the game targets a family audience, grew sharply in popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic as a portable group activity, and was later named the official card game of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
