Stop Thief is an American electronic board game published by Parker Brothers in 1979 and designed by Robert Doyle. Two to four players take on the roles of detectives trying to track down an invisible thief moving through a city of numbered buildings and streets, using a handheld electronic device called the Crime Scanner that reports sounds and clues about the thief's location. Play combines dice-rolling movement with genuine deductive reasoning about where the unseen thief is likely to be, and a typical game runs about thirty minutes, with victory going to whichever detective accumulates two thousand five hundred dollars in rewards for correct arrests.
