Stomp! (game)

Modern Conquest and War Games

Stomp! is a fantasy board wargame published by Chaosium in 1978 and designed by Tadashi Ehara, simulating an asymmetric battle between a giant and a band of elves over ownership of a garden. One player takes the role of Thunderpumper the giant while the other commands a force of eighteen elves, giving the two sides deliberately mismatched numbers and abilities rather than the mirrored forces typical of many wargames of the period. The lopsided setup made Stomp! notable among Chaosium's early catalogue as a lighter, more whimsical entry than the publisher's better known fantasy and horror lines, built around a single skirmish rather than an extended campaign system.
