Starship Catan

Starship Catan is a two-player card game designed by Klaus Teuber and published by Kosmos in German and by Mayfair Games in English. It is loosely based on the board game Starfarers of Catan and casts the two players as rival Catanian expeditions trying to find their way home after passing through a wormhole, aided along the way by four different alien races they encounter. Players gather and spend six kinds of resources, the five basic goods of ore, wheat, fuel, trade goods and carbon, plus science as a sixth, all of which are held under the same storage limits used in the Catan Card Game. Victory points accumulate as the game is played, and the two starships are not assumed to necessarily make it all the way home by the time the game ends, so success is measured in points gathered rather than simply reaching a finish line.
