Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game

Role-Playing Games

Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game is a role-playing game set in the Star Wars universe, written and published by West End Games between 1987 and 1999. Its game system was slightly modified and rereleased in 2004 as D6 Space, which dropped the licensed setting in favour of a generic space opera backdrop. Several later and unrelated Star Wars role-playing games share the name or a close variant of it: one from Wizards of the Coast ran from 2000 to 2010, and another from Fantasy Flight Games ran from 2012 to 2020, after which the Edge Studio took over the license. The West End Games edition is the earliest of these by date.
