Star Trek: Starship Tactical Combat Simulator

Board wargame

Star Trek: Starship Tactical Combat Simulator is a 1983 board wargame published by FASA Corporation, which reissued it in 1984 as the Star Trek II Starship Combat Simulator. Set within the licensed Star Trek universe, it uses ten sided dice and cardboard counters to resolve tactical starship combat encounters between opposing fleets. Its mechanics grew directly out of the ship combat rules FASA had already built into its Star Trek role playing game, later separated out and expanded into a standalone tactical product for players who wanted to focus on starship battles specifically rather than broader roleplaying adventures. The game went through several further printings before FASA's Star Trek license expired, with final versions issued in 1986 either as standalone rulebooks or bundled into boxed sets alongside the second edition of the role playing game.
