Sleeping Queens

Card game

Sleeping Queens is a children's card game invented by Miranda Evarts and first published by Gamewright in 2005, illustrated by Jimmy Pickering. Two to five players use kings, knights, potions and other action cards to wake sleeping queen cards from the shared tableau, while jesters and dragons let players interfere with an opponent's awakened queens by putting them back to sleep or stealing them outright. The game was originally designed by Evarts as a child, and its simple push-your-luck and card-drafting mechanics, playable by young children while remaining engaging for adults, helped it become a widely distributed family card game after Gamewright picked it up.
