Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon

Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, also called Bacon's Law, is a parlor game in which players challenge one another to pick an actor and connect that actor to another actor through a film in which both appeared. The chain is repeated to find the shortest path that leads to the prolific American actor Kevin Bacon. The game rests on the assumption that anyone involved in the Hollywood film industry can be linked to Bacon through film roles within six steps. Its name echoes the concept of six degrees of separation, which holds that any two people on Earth are six or fewer acquaintance links apart. Bacon later started a charitable organization, SixDegrees.org, in 2007 and a podcast, The Last Degree of Kevin Bacon, in 2020.
