Silesian lottery

Silesian lottery, known in German as Schlesische Lotterie and by several regional names including Kartenlotterie, Kartentombola, Grosses Los, Grune Wiese, and Bullermannchen, is a German gambling card game built around chance rather than skill. It is played with two packs of thirty-two Bavarian-pattern or French-suited playing cards, and functions as a simple game of chance in which players effectively wager on which cards will appear, resembling a card-based lottery more than a strategic card game. Because stakes can be played with tokens or counters instead of real money, the game is considered suitable for children aged ten and older when played in that non-monetary form, which has helped it remain a familiar, low-stakes family pastime in the regions where it is traditionally played, alongside its more explicitly gambling-oriented adult form.
