Shithead (card game)

Matching and Shedding Card Games

Shithead is a card game, also called Karma, Palace, Caboodle or Shed, in which the object is to get rid of all of ones playing cards. Rather than crowning a winner, the game is decided by who is left holding cards at the end: the aim is to avoid being the last player remaining. The game became popular among backpackers in the late twentieth century, and many regional variations of the original rules exist, so groups often agree on house rules before play begins. It belongs to the shedding family of card games, where progress means emptying the hand, and it is generally played with a standard deck of playing cards.
