Shadows over Camelot

Cooperative board game

Shadows over Camelot is an Arthurian-themed cooperative board game designed by Serge Laget and Bruno Cathala, with illustrations by Julien Delval and Cyrille Daujean, published by Days of Wonder and first shown at the American International Toy Fair in 2005 before wider release later that year. Three to seven players take the roles of Knights of the Round Table who must complete a series of quests together to defend Camelot, but one player may secretly be a Traitor working to undermine the group from within. The game blends shared cooperative victories and losses for the loyal knights with hidden-role deception, since suspicion of a hidden Traitor changes how players cooperate throughout the game. An expansion, Merlin's Company, was published in 2008, and the game has also appeared in French as Les Chevaliers de la Table Ronde and in German as Schatten uber Camelot.
