RSVP was a vertical word game published by Selchow and Righter, debuting in 1958 and marketed as a three dimensional variant of Scrabble. Two players used cubical letter tiles on an upright eleven by eleven grid board to form words in a crossword style layout, competing to build their own words while simultaneously blocking the opponent's word formation on the opposite side of the vertical board. The set included seventy five wooden letter pieces with no blank tiles, unlike standard Scrabble. Players aimed to reach a predetermined score, typically one hundred points, by strategically placing tiles to maximize their own scoring opportunities while minimizing the opponent's options on the shared vertical grid.
