Quarriors!

Quarriors! is a pool-building dice game made by WizKids and first released in 2011, in which players take on the role of mystical warriors commanding creatures and spells. On a turn a player rolls the dice currently in their pool to generate quiddity, an in-game currency, which they spend to buy new Spell Dice or Creature Dice from a shared, randomized market. Purchased dice join the player's own pool for later turns, and Creature Dice can be summoned and used to attack opponents. Because dice can simply be pulled from a bag rather than shuffled and dealt like cards, the game plays quickly with little downtime. The pool of dice types available to buy changes from game to game, giving each session a different mix of creatures and spells and a high degree of replayability. Quarriors won the Origins Award for Best Family, Party or Children's Game of 2012 and was nominated for several Dice Tower Game of the Year awards. It went on to spawn multiple expansions and an iOS port, and its pool-building dice mechanism became the foundation for WizKids' later Dice Masters series.
