Port Royale 2

Port Royale 2 is a business simulation video game released in 2004 as the sequel to Port Royale: Gold, Power and Pirates, developed by the German studio Ascaron Entertainment for Windows, with a separate mobile version later produced by Elkware. Set in the Caribbean during the seventeenth century, the game has players build a trading empire by establishing shipping routes between colonial ports, constructing and upgrading buildings within towns they come to control, and commanding fleets in real-time naval battles against rival powers and pirates. Towns can be founded, developed, fought over or razed depending on the player's strategy, blending economic management with action-oriented combat. The German Windows version released first in April 2004, followed by other European territories in September and North America soon after, with Capcom publishing a Japanese edition and a mobile adaptation following later that year. The series continued with Port Royale 3: Pirates and Merchants in 2012.
