Star Wars Risk: The Clone Wars Edition

Modern Conquest and War Games

Star Wars Risk: The Clone Wars Edition is a licensed variant of the territory-conquest board game Risk, published by Parker Brothers in 2005 and themed on the Star Wars prequel era, episodes I, II and III. Instead of armies fighting over Earth, players choose to side with either the Separatists or the Republic and compete to take control of the galaxy. The box lets a group play by the classic Risk rules or by a set of Clone Wars variations that change how the contest is run, so the same components serve both the familiar game and the themed one. The publisher's listing gives it as a game for two to four players, aged ten and up, with a playing time of about 120 minutes. It belongs to the long line of themed Risk editions that reuse the original design, which Albert Lamorisse, a French film director, invented in the early 1950s, and the Risk history timeline lists it under 2005 as the Star Wars Clone Wars edition.
