Pirates Constructible Strategy Game

Pirates Constructible Strategy Game is a tabletop miniatures and collectible game manufactured by WizKids, first released in late July 2004 and discontinued in 2008. It belongs to WizKids' constructible strategy game family: players do not receive pre-built miniatures but instead punch small polystyrene pieces out of cardboard placeholder cards and assemble them by hand into ships, forts, sea monsters, crew figures, islands and other terrain markers. As a ship or other unit takes damage during play, physical pieces of the assembled model are broken away and removed, so the model itself visibly tracks how much punishment it has absorbed. Players build fleets from these constructed pieces and maneuver them across a tabletop battlefield, most commonly competing to collect more gold than their opponents, though published variant rules also support objective based scenarios and full elimination matches where the goal is to destroy every enemy ship. The game blended the collectible booster pack model familiar from trading card games with physical miniatures assembly, giving each purchase both a building activity and a new tactical piece for the wider game.
