Piecepack is a public domain game system, a standard set of components from which many different board games can be played, much as a deck of playing cards supports thousands of card games. It was created by James Kyle in 2001. A set consists of twenty four tiles, twenty four coins, four pawns and four dice, using four suits named Suns, Moons, Arms and Crowns. Dozens of designers have written more than 225 games for it, and manufacturers around the world sell sets. The system has public domain expansions, including HexPack with hexagonal tiles, CardPack, Matchsticks and AcesPack. A 2015 book from Workman Publishing, The Infinite Board Game, details fifty games and bundles a set, and the system is available in Tabletop Simulator and as a module for the Vassal Engine.
