Paskahousu is a popular Finnish card game for two to six players, although three to five players is considered the best number. Its name translates as scaredy pants. The object of the game is to play cards higher than the cards previously played, first collecting replacement cards from the stock pile while it lasts, and then, once the stock pile is exhausted, to get rid of all of one's own cards. The game is a climbing and shedding game in this sense, since each play must beat what came before. It has many rule variations. One of the most widespread variants is Valepaska, in which cards are played face down and the players do not need to announce their plays truthfully, which adds bluffing to the basic shedding contest.
