Overlord, subtitled The Normandy Invasion, is a two-player board wargame published by Conflict Games in 1973. The game recreates the Allied landings in Normandy, France on June 6, 1944, known by the codename Operation Overlord, and the subsequent German defensive campaign that followed, covering the historical period from June 6 through August 28, 1944 across twenty-eight game turns. One player commands the invading Allied forces, responsible for establishing and expanding the beachhead, while the other commands the German defenders attempting to contain and repel the invasion using the historical terrain and unit strengths of the campaign. As an early-1970s hex-and-counter wargame, Overlord reflects the hobby's growing interest during that decade in detailed, historically grounded simulations of major World War II operations, letting players re-fight one of the war's pivotal campaigns move by move.
