Osmosis, also known as Treasure Trove, is a single deck patience card game for one player. The goal is to move all 52 cards into four foundation piles, but unlike many solitaire games the foundations are not built up in strict numerical order. Instead, cards of the same value slowly filter through to successive foundations by osmosis. The deal begins with seventeen cards, sixteen dealt face down into four reserve piles with one face up card on top of each, and one card that establishes the first foundation. Success depends heavily on how the reserve and stock piles fall, making it a game of both strategy and luck.
