On the Edge (game)

Modern Hobby Strategy Games

On the Edge is an out-of-print collectible card game released in 1994, not long after Magic: The Gathering. Its setting and characters came from the role-playing game Over the Edge, and its story takes place on Al Amarja, an island in the southern Mediterranean where various factions fight for control. Atlas Games lacked the funds to publish it alone and so partnered with Jerry Corrick and Bob Brynildson to form a new corporation, Trident, Inc. The core series launched in 1994 as starter decks of 60 randomized cards and booster packs of 10, and was followed by expansions including The Cut-Ups Project, created by Robin D. Laws in 1995, and Shadows, designed by Jonathan Tweet.
