Nerts

Matching and Shedding Card Games

Nerts, called Racing Demon in the United Kingdom, is a fast-paced multiplayer card game played with several decks of playing cards and often described as a competitive form of solitaire. Players or teams race to get rid of the cards in their Nerts pile, their Demon, by playing them in sequences from aces upward, either into their own personal area or into a communal central area. Each player or team uses their own deck throughout the game. The number of players or teams is limited only by the number of decks available and the amount of space, so a game can grow from a few players to a large crowd.
