Mysterium (board game)

Deduction and Guessing Games

Mysterium is a cooperative deduction board game designed by Oleksandr Nevskiy and Oleg Sidorenko and first published in 2015, later picked up for wider English and French release, with rules and artwork adjustments, by the French publisher Libellud. One player takes the role of a mute ghost who can communicate only by dealing illustrated vision cards, while the remaining two to six players act as psychic mediums who must interpret the imagery on the cards they are individually given to identify a suspect, a location, and a murder weapon tied to a crime the ghost is trying to help solve. A full game runs about forty-two minutes and is intended for players aged ten and up. The base game was followed by two expansions, Mysterium: Hidden Signs in 2016 and Mysterium: Secrets and Lies in 2017, and the original release won BoardGameGeek's 2015 Golden Geek Award for Best Artwork and Presentation.
