Monopoly Deal

Monopoly Deal is a card game derived from the board game Monopoly, introduced in 2008 and produced and sold by Cartamundi under license from Hasbro. Rather than moving pieces around a board, players build sets of property cards, collect rent and action cards, and try to be the first to complete three full property sets, compressing a typical game of Monopoly's real estate theme into a fast card game that can be finished in well under half an hour. The game is played by two to five players and was generally well received on release for its short playing time and the direct player-to-player interaction of its rent and action cards, both features that set it apart from the slower, more solitary pace often associated with the original board game. Its commercial success has led to numerous themed editions carrying licensed properties from film, television and other media franchises in place of the standard streets and utilities of the original game.
