Mölkky

Mölkky is a Finnish throwing game invented in 1996 by the company Tuoteperhe, derived from the traditional game of kyykka. Players take turns throwing a wooden throwing pin at a cluster of twelve numbered wooden skittles standing on end, attempting to knock skittles down to score points. Knocking down a single skittle scores points equal to the number marked on it, while knocking down multiple skittles in one throw scores points equal to the count of skittles felled. Skittles that fall are stood back up at the spot where they land, gradually spreading the target cluster across the playing area and changing the difficulty of subsequent throws. The first player or team to reach exactly fifty points wins, while exceeding fifty resets a player's score to twenty five. Mölkky is played casually outdoors on grass or sand and has grown into an organized competitive sport with national and world championships.
