Mistigri (card game)

Mistigri, historically known as Pamphile, is an old French trick-taking card game for three or four players that carries elements reminiscent of poker. It belongs to the Rams family of card games and is played with a thirty two card French or German suited deck, scored as a point trick game. Although it is a gambling game traditionally played for small stakes, its simple structure also makes it a workable game for families, and it is commonly recommended for players aged twelve and older. The name Mistigri refers to a penalty card within the deck that players try to avoid holding at the end of a hand, a mechanic shared with other games in the Rams family.
