Mikado

Mikado, also widely known as pick-up sticks or jackstraws, is a game in which a bundle of thin sticks is dropped in a loose pile and players take turns removing one stick at a time from the pile without disturbing any of the others, with sticks of different colors worth different point values. Games of this dexterity type have older regional roots under various names, and the game acquired its common Mikado name and a colored, points-scoring stick set in commercial German editions of the nineteenth century, from which the now-standard version spread internationally as both a children's game and a simple test of steady hands.
