Memoir '44

Modern Conquest and War Games

Memoir '44 is a light wargame and war-themed strategy board game for two players, created by Richard Borg and published by Days of Wonder in 2004 using an enhanced version of Borg's Command and Colors game system. Each scenario recreates a specific battle connected to the 1944 Normandy landings and the wider D-Day campaign, with players commanding infantry, armor, and artillery units across a modular hexagonal battlefield and using command cards to activate sections of their line. Base games are built for two players but scale up to six or eight using team play or the Overlord expansion rules, which require a second copy of the game, and a typical scenario plays in thirty to sixty minutes after about ten minutes of setup.
