Man the Lifeboat is a board game published in 1987 by San Serif Print Promotions, a British games publisher that had built its early business licensing North American hits such as Trivial Pursuit before moving into original game development in the mid 1980s. Each participant in Man the Lifeboat manages two lifeboats, one assigned to inshore rescue work and one assigned to offshore rescue missions, competing to run rescue operations more effectively than the other players. Reviewing it for Games International in January 1989, David Pritchard called it fast moving and undemanding, awarding two out of five stars and suggesting the underlying rescue theme and mechanics could have been developed further than the published edition allowed.
